Howdy

I’m Renée, and I design. That means I concept, create, direct, and deliver engaging visual experiences for humans, by a human.

What I Do

Creative
Direction

Conceptualizing design systems and solving big picture problems while mentoring junior creatives are why I design. Shaping the creative to send the right message is vital, and creating is not just a job, it’s a necessity for me.

Brand
Identity

Branding can make or break a campaign, and I use human-centered design to deliver solutions to the problem at hand. Helping a company figure out its personality is challenging and incredibly rewarding.

Interactive
Design

Ideating, wireframing, building and rapid prototyping inform my process. I also write HTML5 and CSS3 with enough javascript to be dangerous. The age old argument of ‘should designers code’ doesn’t interest me. I can and do.

Print
Design

From brochures to posters, I create print pieces that inform and engage audiences in any industry. And at last count, I had 50 different books on paper types in my apartment, and they are stacked next to my Pantone books.

I Work With People

Calling it a business or a client sounds cold. When I am designing for a problem, I remember that I am designing for people, not personas. People are messy and do not get put into boxes easily, and finding the best solution for the problem means solving for humans, not specs and checking off lists.

My History

I received my BFA in graphic design from Marymount Manhattan College in 2007, and bring 10+ years of experience in advertising, branding, project & campaign management, interactive web & email design, pre-press and pre-flight, and creative team development. For the past four years, I’ve been working in the healthcare industry. Changing healthcare for the better is a huge passion and I believe design can help bring about the cure.
